A group, Niger Delta Ethnic Nationalities Youth Leaders Forum (NDENYLF) has applauded the national security adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, over the arrest of Ansaru terrorist leaders, Abu Bara and Mallam Mamuda.
The forum said the operation, which effectively crippled the central command of Ansaru, stands as one of the most significant milestones in Nigeria’s relentless war against terrorism.
Addressing journalists in Port Harcourt yesterday, NDENYLF spokesman, Engr. Legborsi Yamaabana, said Ribadu had proven himself not only as a seasoned statesman but also as a patriotic defender of our national unity.
Yamaabana said the forum applauded the courage, dedicationand brilliance of Ribadu, whose visionary leadership continues to inspire renewed hope for a safer and more secure Nigeria. The NSA was also described as a seasoned statesman and patriotic defender of national unity.
The forum further commended the collaborative efforts of the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of Army Staff, the Inspector-General of Police and the minister of Information and National Orientation. It noted that their synergy under the guidance of the NSA had sent a clear message that terrorism and its sponsors would find no safe haven within or outside Nigeria’s borders.
Speaking as the voice of youths across the Niger Delta ethnic nationalities, the group reaffirmed its total support and readiness to partner with the Office of the NSA and other security agencies in intelligence gathering, peace advocacy, and grassroots sensitisation. It stressed that Niger Delta youths remain prepared to strengthen national security and ensure that their communities are free from violence and extremism.
The Forum also urged young Nigerians across the country to take a strong stand against terrorism, kidnapping, and all forms of criminality. It warned that terrorism is not only a crime against the state but also an assault on families, shared humanity, and the nation’s future.
Instead of yielding to extremist ideologies, the group encouraged youths to embrace peace, education, entrepreneurship, and patriotism as pathways to personal and national greatness.
According to Yamaabana, Ribadu’s and the security chiefs’ gallant efforts remind us that Nigeria is greater than the forces seeking to divide or destroy it. The Forum pledged that it would continue to work with security institutions to achieve a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.
