A leading stakeholder of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano, Musa Ilyasu Kwankwaso, has accused former governor of Kaduna State, Nasiru El-Rufai, of resorting to blackmail and lies against President Bola Tinubu.
Kwankwaso stated this in a statement he issued to newsmen in Kano yesterday.
He described the method El-Rufai embarked upon as obsolete.
“You cannot oust President Bola Tinubu from the presidency in 2027 by engaging in the same method you did to former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015, using poverty, insecurity and economic devastation. Your blackmail is clear to all.
“It is clear to Nigerians that President Tinubu has achieved a lot by changing the narrative, with many places becoming secured and prices of commodities becoming more and more affordable.
“The insecurity met on the ground by President Tinubu when he came in is gradually being controlled, thanks to Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the security advisor to the president. But people like El-Rufai are clearly not happy with these achievements,” he stated.
Kwankwaso further challenged El-Rufai to produce evidence of his allegations that Tinubu’s administration is sponsoring banditry and other criminal acts across the country.
“If you don’t have any evidence to show on these allegations, you should shut your mouth up and allow the government to continue the good things it is doing to Nigerians”, he added.
Kwankwaso further alleged that El-Rufai is only working to instigate the northern part of the country against the Tinubu administration. He, however, stated that “the northerners are not stupid as they can see what is being done by the Tinubu administration from Birningwari to Sokoto to Borno”.
He also described the Nigerian political coalition as a failure, saying that all those subscribing to it have nothing better to offer Nigerians.
