Desperados, Nigeria’s number one flavored beer, promised the people of Awka a good time, and the brand delivered just that. After taking the Latin Vibe rave to the cities of Lagos and Port-Harcourt, it was finally Awka’s turn to party on Sunday, the 7th of September 2025 at New Berries Park. The event promised fun, dance, music and energy, and it is safe to say that Desperados did not fall short on that promise.
The night was a showcase of sound and spectacle. Apete brought his signature Igbo-infused rap to the stage, setting the tone with lyrical grit and hometown pride. DJ Big N was definitely in his big bag, going by his incredible set on the turntables. M.I.A.’s energy was off the roof with the most electric hype and dance performance of the year. Big Swagz’s set had the people dancing, with DJ Alonso rolling out banger after banger. DJ Kay. Y’s set had the people singing along, and Slym Shady’s hype undoubtedly had the people’s energy up. Bodies mingled in unison as they danced and sang along to tune after tune, all with a bottle of Desperados in hand. All of these made the rave that much special and a truly unforgettable night.
The atmosphere was just as striking as the music. Desperados’ bold colours pulsed through the venue, amplified by LED screens that made the night feel larger than life. Dance battles broke out, met with roars from the crowd, while performers in vibrant red and yellow outfits moved effortlessly to the beat. Partygoers, dressed in their most creative fits, turned the night into an unofficial fashion parade where style met pure fun.
The supply of Desperados was generous and the atmosphere came alive as guests danced, cheered and savoured the night. Party goers got their faces painted in vibrant colours, while some even got temporary tattoos from a tattoo artist present, adding an edge of playful rebellion. One excited party goer, with a Desperados beer in hand and his face getting painted, said, “You dey play with Desperados? Na the best drink ever o!” People showed up in their numbers with their friends to share love, fun, and Desperados with their loved ones.
By the end of the night, one thing was clear: this rave had further cemented Desperados as the beer for the Gen Z.. Awka’s Latin Vibe Rave wasn’t just another party; it was proof that wherever Desperados shows up, exciting memories follow. From the performers to the crowd, the night delivered on every promise: music, community, and the kind of energy only Desperados can bottle.
