Governor’s Wife Donates Relief To Taraba Flood Victims

Agyin Agbu Kefas, the wife of the Taraba State Governor, has donated relief materials worth millions of Naira to Kunini flood victims in the Lau local government area of the state.

Jessy Danladi, who presented the relief on behalf of Agyin Kefas, said the donation is in solidarity with the people of Kunini who were affected by the recent flood disaster.

Danladi, who led the team with the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), also said the governor’s wife sympathises with the flood victims regarding the colossal damage to properties and farmlands.

As a mother, she added, she shares their pain and grief, including the irreplaceable losses and devastation, and assured the community of her readiness to reach out whenever the need arises.

The village head of Kunini, Ibrahim Umaru, expressed appreciation to the governor’s wife and the team for the visit, saying the gesture encouraged the affected persons.

The village head explained that the flood had caused severe damage within Kunini and across the villages, as crops and farmlands were washed away.

He appealed to the First Lady and other prominent personalities to come to their aid by providing an access road that will avert flooding in the area in future.

Some victims thanked the governor’s wife for having their best interests at heart and prayed God would guide and protect her as she and the governor piloted the state’s affairs to greater heights.

The items distributed include cartons of spaghetti, gallons of vegetable oil, blankets, mats, children’s clothes, and rice.
