Troops of the Nigerian Army, under Operation Hadin Kai, have killed three Boko Haram terrorists in an ambush in Umbo Gen area of Borno State.

The incident occurred on Monday evening during Operation Desert Sanity IV, according to security analyst Zagazola Makama via his X handle.

Troops, operating in conjunction with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, CJTF, and local hunters, engaged the insurgents in a heavy exchange of fire, forcing them to retreat.

“Three terrorists were neutralised in the operation. Troops also recovered one AK-47 rifle and an Itel mobile phone,” one of the sources confirmed.

The source added that no casualties were recorded on the side of the troops, though security in the area remains calm but unpredictable
