The Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State, Hon. Aliyu Yakubu Barde, has passed away, throwing the ruling party in the state into mourning.
Family sources confirmed that Barde died on Tuesday in Lafia after a brief illness and will be buried in his hometown, Wamba, in line with Islamic rites.
Confirming the development, the State Secretary of the APC, Chief Otaru Douglas, described the late party chieftain’s death as a huge loss to both the party and the entire state.
Before becoming the state’s APC Deputy Chairman, Barde had served as Interim Management Committee Chairman of Wamba Local Government Area under the administration of former Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.
