Niger Food, Dangote Group, Others Set To Boost Rice Production

Plans are ongoing to boost rice production in Nigeria and make it affordable for consumers.

The chairman, Niger Foods, Engr. Sammy Adigun, who disclosed this to newsmen in Osogbo, explained that a detailed strategy is already being worked out to achieve abundant production.

According to him, the trio of Dangote Group, Niger Foods and Africa Rice are working together to make the turnaround in the production of the foremost food item available to the masses.

He noted that the massive production mechanism would propel over 10 million tons of rice per year from the Niger Food only.

Adigun further emphasised that the move would help create over 500,000 jobs for Nigerians on 500,000 hectares of land.

He explained that the delegation from Dangote includes Aliko Dangote, Thabo Manneh, and Dan Kunle, while the delegation from Niger Food includes Sammy Adigun, Bashir Tanko, and Pieter Merve.

He added that Africa Rice would have Dr Baboucarr Manneh (DG), ⁠Dr Samuel Bruce-Oliver, Dr Marcel Nwalozie, Dr Sali Ndindeng, Mr. Aly Adam’s Diomande, Dr Thomas AWIO, Dr Francis Nwilene and Hon. Munir Babba Danagundi as its representatives.
