The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) has announced that 53 out of 70 candidates who sat for the Permanent Secretary written examination have qualified for the next phase of the process.
DAILY POST reports that the disclosure was made in a statement on Tuesday by Eno Olotu, Director of Information and Public Relations, OHCSF, who noted that the strong performance reflects the depth of talent within the Civil Service.
She added that it underscored the government’s resolve to elevate only the most competent and visionary officers into leadership positions.
According to the OHCSF, the next stage is the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) proficiency test, scheduled for today, designed to assess candidates’ digital skills, a vital requirement for effective leadership in modern governance.
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack, reiterated that the process remains credible, competitive, and reform-driven, aligning with the federal government’s vision for a professional and accountable public service.
“The advancement of 53 candidates to the next stage of this rigorous process reflects our deliberate efforts to uphold excellence in public service leadership. We are committed to ensuring that only individuals of proven competence, integrity, and vision emerge to lead the Federal Civil Service at the highest levels,” she said.
She further assured Nigerians that the entire exercise would be guided by fairness and integrity in line with the federal government’s governance and reform agenda.
Currently, the federal government is seeking to fill five vacant positions of Permanent Secretaries including those for the FCT and Imo State, as well as three newly created rotational zonal slots for the North-Central, North-East, and South-East geopolitical zones.
