Abia Gov, Otti only developing his local government – Former Commissioner

Former Abia State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Don Ubani, has alleged that Governor Alex Otti is only developing his ancestral local government without considering others.

Ubani made this allegation on Wednesday while fielding questions in an interview on ‘The Morning Brief’, a programme on Channels Television.

He was speaking on Abia state governance.

The ex-commissioner said the governor failed to fulfill the promise he made to Okwa west, which according to him is the only current oil producing local government area in the state.

“I am an indigene of Okwa West LGA of Abia State, the only oil producing local government area in Abia State for now.

“I want to state categorically here that so far, nothing substantial has happened in the local government.

“When the governor campaigned in 2022, he promised to relocate the Abia State Oil Producing Area Development Commission, ASOPADEC headquarters from Umuahia to Okwa west but till now he has hasn’t done anything.

“Again I want to state that the governor in his ancestral local government area has done more than 20 roads but none has been done in Okwa West,” he said.
