Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and ex-Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has praised the Nigeria Police for the swift arrest of suspects involved in the gruesome murder of a housewife and her six children at Dorayi Quarters in Kano.
Ganduje strongly condemned the brutal killing, describing it as tragic, inhuman and deeply disturbing, and called for the immediate prosecution of those responsible.
In a statement issued by his Chief of Staff, Comrade Muhammad Garba, the former governor expressed deep sorrow over the incident and extended his condolences to the bereaved family and the Dorayi Chiranci community in Gwale Local Government Area of the state.
He noted that the tragic killings serve as a painful reminder of the urgent need for sustained efforts to safeguard innocent lives and preserve peace in society.
While condemning the act, Ganduje commended the Kano State Police Command for its prompt response and effective investigation, which led to the arrest of suspects linked to the crime.
He urged security agencies to carry out a thorough investigation and ensure diligent prosecution of all those involved.
“The speed and professionalism demonstrated by the Kano State Police Command are reassuring. Justice must be pursued to its logical conclusion to serve as a deterrent to others,” he said.
He further appealed to residents to continue supporting security agencies by providing timely and credible information, emphasizing that strong community cooperation remains vital to maintaining lasting peace and security.
