Adeyemi Adewale, a footballer from Ilesa west football team lost his life during a football match.
The 29 years old footballer slumped during the Adeleke Memorial Cup final, held at Ataoja School of Science in Osogbo on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
The Osun State Police command confirmed this in a statement.
The statement said: “Today, 16/01/2025, while the Adeleke Memorial Cup Final match was ongoing at Ataoja School of Science, one Adeyemi Adewale, 29, a player from Ilesa West Football Team, slumped on the pitch.
“He was rushed to the Osun State University Teaching Hospital, where he was later confirmed dead by the doctor.
“Meanwhile, his body has been deposited at the hospital morgue.”
