Emir Of Ilorin Mourns Ex-Kwara Gov Cornelius Adebayo

The Emir of Ilorin and chairman of Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Alh Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has commiserated with the Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq over the demise of a Second Republic governor of the state, Chief Cornelius Adebayo.

Adebayo, a former minister of Communications died in the early hours of Wednesday at the age of 84.

His death was confirmed early Wednesday morning in Abuja by family sources.

Sulu-Gambari, in a condolence message issued by his press secretary, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona, described late Adebayo as an administrator par excellence and elder statesman.

The Emir noted that the deceased contributed his quotas to the development of the state within his short period tenure of office as the Kwara State Governor before the military took over power in 1983.

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari commiserated with the immediate and extended family members of Adebayo, the government and people of Kwara State, his friends and political associates over the incident.

He prayed God to repose the soul of the deceased and give the family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
