On this auspicious day, the Oloye Iyalode-in-Council joins the entire sons and daughters of Ibadanland, at home and in the diaspora, to joyfully celebrate the birth anniversary of our mother, our pillar, our voice, and our pride the Iyalode of Ibadanland, Chief (Mrs.) Theresa Laduntan Oyekanmi.
At 92, Mama’s life is a testimony of grace, wisdom, courage, and selfless service. You have carried the mantle of Iyalode with dignity and strength, upholding the values of womanhood, preserving our cherished culture, and giving leadership that inspires generations. In your counsel, Ibadan women have found hope; in your courage, they have found strength; and in your unwavering dedication, Ibadanland has found an enduring matriarch.
Today, we do not just celebrate the passage of time, but the gift of a life well spent in service to humanity, to Ibadanland, and to the Almighty God. You remain a mother to all, a leader to many, and a shining light whose legacies will outlive generations.On behalf of the Oloye Iyalode-in-Council, we pray that the Almighty continues to bless you with long life in sound health, peace, and joy. May your days be lengthened to reap the fruits of your labour, and may Ibadanland continue to prosper under your motherly guidance.
