President of the Ijaw National Congress, INC, Prof. Benjamin Okaba, has disclosed that at least 10,000 jobs were lost in Rivers State due to to the imposition of emergency rule in the oil-rich state.
Okaba made the claim on Wednesday, while responding to questions on Arise Television.
“Six months of emergency rule in Rivers State, spanning from March 18th to the present, has resulted in significant losses across multiple sectors.
“With the suspension of the governor, deputy governor, and legislature, a form of dictatorship was effectively put in place, represented by the sole administrator appointed,” he said.
DAILY POST recalls that President Bola Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State in March, suspending Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy and the state’s legislators.
