BIRNIN KEBBI — Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari, calling it a significant loss not just to Nigeria, but to Africa as a whole.
In a condolence message issued on Saturday, Governor Idris hailed the late President as a patriot whose life was dedicated to the progress of the nation.
“Buhari was more than a leader—he was a symbol of honesty and consistency in Nigerian politics,” the Governor said. “He stayed true to his principles and never compromised what he believed in.”
Governor Idris described Buhari as a father figure, a mentor, and a source of inspiration to many, both within and beyond the political space.
“His ability to connect with ordinary Nigerians and his unwavering commitment to national development earned him a place in history,” he added.
He offered prayers for Allah to forgive Buhari’s shortcomings, grant him eternal peace in Jannatul Firdaus, and comfort his family, the Katsina State government, and the nation at large.
