Atalanta manager, Ivan Juric, has claimed he cannot beg Ademola Lookman to play for the team.
Although Juric has reinstated Lookman back into La Dea’s first-team training, he will not feature against Lecce in a Serie A clash on Sunday.
The 27-year-old tried to force a move away this summer, by submitting a transfer request and staying away from training.
However, the Super Eagles forward failed to find a new club, with Atalanta especially rejecting several offers from Inter Milan.
Ahead of the Lecce game, Juric said: “This is an unpleasant, difficult situation.
“With Lookman, I have a very good relationship, but I don’t have to beg him to play.
“On the contrary, we are Atalanta, and we represent the city.
“We need what Atalanta represents: work, humility, they are different values, I do not have to pray to anyone. We are all convinced that Atalanta needs strong values on a human level.”
