The Presidential candidate of Labour Party, LP, during the 2023 general elections, Mr Peter Obi, has declared that Ibadan is very strategic and central to the development of Nigeria.
Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, made this declaration when he paid a visit to the Olubadan-designate, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja.
Our correspondent reports that Obi and some of his associates visited Ladoja at his Bodija residence in Ibadan on Sunday.
Obi was accompanied by the gubernatorial candidate of Labour Party in Lagos State in 2023, Mr Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, and National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Mr Yunusa Tanko, among others.
The delegation arrived Ladoja’s residence around 10:55 am.
Obi while speaking explained that he came to pay homage to the Olubadan-designate because Ibadan is very strategic and central to the political, social and economic development of Nigeria.
Obi noted that Ladoja will bring his wealth of experience as a former senator, governor and business tycoon to lead Ibadan to a enviable positions.
He said, “The visit is about Nigeria, selfless leadership, leadership that is committed in turning out society around.
“Because, Ibadan is very strategic and central to the development of Nigeria. As a former governor, senator, business tycoon, he will have all what he needs to succeed. And I will support him as Olubadan for the sake of one Nigeria.
“Most of the schools in Ibadan, University of Ibadan for example were attended by many people from different parts of Nigeria and they are making it in all areas of human endeavors.”
