A joint team of security operatives, including vigilante groups in Kebbi State, have successfully rescued six kidnapped victims and recovered several rustled cattle following a daring operation in Kokanawa and Ukuhu communities of Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area.

The Director of Security at the Cabinet Office, Abdulrahaman Zagga, confirmed the operation to journalists on Tuesday, noting that the troops confronted the bandits at their entry point into Kebbi, located at a riverbank bordering Zamfara State.

“The operatives showed exceptional courage and professionalism by taking on the criminals and securing the area,” Zagga stated.

The rescued victims have since been reunited with their families, while the recovered cattle were returned to their rightful owners.

Community Reactions

Residents of the affected communities expressed gratitude to the security agencies and vigilante teams for their swift and coordinated response, which they say has restored hope and confidence in local security efforts.

This successful operation underscores the importance of collaborative security frameworks, especially in areas facing cross-border threats from neighboring states like Zamfara.
