Nigeria’s U-20 national team, the Flying Eagles, secured a resounding 4-1 victory over Benin Republic on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the Prampram Technical Center in Ghana.
The Flying Eagles came into the game after a 1-1 draw against Ghana in their group opener, setting the stage for a critical encounter.

The match took an early turn when Benin Republic took the lead in the 25th minute through Junior Olugbade, putting pressure on the Nigerian side.
However, Abdullahi Muhammad, who had equalized against Ghana in their previous match, stepped up again in the 40th minute to level the score, ensuring both teams went into the break on equal footing.

Ezekiel Kpangu put the Flying Eagles in front in the 48th minute with a clinical finish.
Imrana Muhammad then extended the lead with a powerful strike in the 86th minute, followed by Abduljelil Kamaldeen sealing the win with a fourth goal in the 94th minute.
The triumph has propelled the defending champions into the semifinals of the WAFU Zone B U20 Boys Cup.
Left back Odinaka Okoro is voted Player of the Match despite not finding the back of the net.
The Flying Eagles now await their semifinals opponents as the other group games unfold.
