Lokoja, Kogi State – A wave of optimism is sweeping across farmlands in Kogi State as Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo rolls out a series of practical interventions aimed at driving up food production and reshaping the agricultural landscape of the state.
From the distribution of brand-new tractors to large-scale fertilizer support, to other targeted farm inputs, the Ododo-led administration is setting the stage for what may become the most productive farming season in recent memory.
Speaking exclusively to The Bureau Newspaper, Hon. Honorius Arome, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Farm Inputs, described the initiatives as “a game-changer for food security in Kogi State.”
“Our farmers are entering this season with renewed strength and support,” Hon. Honorius said. “With the kind of tools and resources this government is providing, we are confident of a bumper harvest across the board. Food availability will soar, and rural livelihoods will improve.”
He further noted that the interventions were carefully designed to reach genuine farmers across the three senatorial districts of the state, ensuring no community is left behind.
Farmers who have already benefitted from the scheme expressed gratitude to Governor Ododo, describing the programme as timely and life-changing, especially in the face of national food price volatility.
Agricultural observers have hailed the initiative as one of the most grounded and impactful grassroots-focused farm support strategies in the North Central region.
As the rains continue and crops flourish, the people of Kogi are beginning to reap the dividends of an administration that is clearly prioritizing sustainable food production and rural economic growth.
