President General of the apex Igbo sociocultural organisation, Senator John Azuta Mbata has called on the Federal Government to urgentl release embattled leader of outlawed Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
The call followed reports that Kanu has some for about five years developed health challenges, including hypertension.
Mbata also called on the federal government to allow Kanu to get medical treatment as quickly as possible.
In a video obtained by LEADERSHIP, the Ohanaeze leader maintained that the government has no serious advantage in further keeping the detained IPOB leader.
Mbata advised the federal government to adopt political solution to the situation and ensure the welfare and safety of Kanu.
“This is senator John Azuta Mbata, the President General of Ohanaeze, Nwigbo Worldwide, I would like to call upon the Federal Government of Nigeria to quickly release Nnamdi Kanu, the government has no serious advantage in keeping him,” he said.
