Youth Movement Set to Host Citizens’ Choice Award 2024 in Abuja

ABUJA, NIGERIA – Award Ceremony Recognizes Youths in Government and Outstanding Employers

The Christian Youth Movement for Tinubu/Shettima 2023 is set to hold its much-anticipated Citizens’ Choice Award on October 16, 2024. The event will take place at 5:00PM. at Valencia Hotel, located at 65 Blantyre Street, Off Ademola Adetokunbo Crescent, Wuse 2, Abuja.

The movement, a registered support group with the All Progressives Congress (APC), played a significant role during the 2023 presidential elections in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This year’s award ceremony is poised to honor outstanding youths in government, as well as key employers of labor who have contributed immensely to Nigeria’s development.

Among the nominees for the “Most Active Male Youth in Government” category are prominent figures such as Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister for Interior; Festus Keyamo SAN, Minister for Aviation; and Abubakar Momoh, Minister for Niger Delta Development. On the female side, Barr. Chioma Nweze, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement for the South East, leads the list of nominees, alongside Abiodun Essiet and Moremi Ojudu, who represent the North Central and South West regions, respectively.

Hon. Fuad Kayode Laguda, representing Surulere Federal Constituency in Lagos State, and Hon. Yusuf Saidu Miga of Jahun/Miga Federal Constituency in Jigawa State are also in the running for the “Best Male House of Representatives” category. Similarly, Hon. Onuoha Mariam and Hon. Khadijat Bukar Abba Ibrahim are among the female nominees vying for the title of “Best Female House of Representatives.”

In the senatorial category, heavyweights like Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu of Abia North and Sen. Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan of Yobe North are among those shortlisted for the “Best Senator” award.

The event will also recognize governors with youth-oriented programs, including Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State and Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State. Additionally, institutions such as Dangote Group, Globacom Telecommunications, and the Tony Elumelu Foundation have been nominated for the “Best Employer of Labor” award.

Speaking on the importance of the event, the National Coordinator of the movement, Olorunwa Emmanuel Adeleke, expressed optimism about the impact of the awards: “This event is not just about recognizing excellence; it’s about inspiring the next generation of leaders. We are proud to honor those who have significantly contributed to youth development and national progress.”

The Citizens’ Choice Award 2024 promises to be a memorable event, bringing together political figures, youth leaders, and key stakeholders to celebrate leadership, innovation, and dedication to the nation’s growth.
